Abstract | India’s growing economy needs a vibrant and all encompassing educational institution which will cater to its Human Development Index. The role of B-Schools is very obvious and conspicuous in the era of economic liberalization and India has not remained exception to it. In fact B-Schools are playing a leading role in comprehensive development of India into a nation as its founding fathers have envisaged. The demand for Graduates from B-Schools is going to multiply in future with the flow of FDI in retail sector. The education at B-Schools should stick on to the highest standard so that the would-be executives could prove to be successful global managers. B-Schools should grow out of their insular ways of thinking and produce a new breed of managers who are accustomed to global market realities and challenges. The graduates of B-Schools unlike products from other social sciences disciplines have the advantages in terms of attitudes and skills to perform internationally, externally and supremely, adapting to the changing scenarios. Since their products are the raw material for the coming renaissance of Indian Industry and Business, the ‘mission critical’ factor is tantamount to nothing less than a complete overhaul of the traditional B-School system in India. The modern India will only thrive on the global stage only if it has globalized managers to run the show. |
